Kon-Tiki
Finished Kon Tiki – Across the Pacific by Raft, on Friday.
It was absolutely amazing.
My biggest take away is that just because everyone thinks something can’t be done, that doesn’t mean they are right. This guy decided, way before GPS or satellite phones existed, to put his theory to the test.
He believed that the Polyneasian Islands were populated by people from South America, and that they had gone on rafts made of balsa wood- a trip of 4,000 miles.
Everyone said it was impossible.
So he did it to prove it was possible.
And now his theories are widely regarded as correct.
An amazing example that you can accomplish way more than you think you can.
