First Week

It took me a week to get this website started, so I’m a little bit behind.
On Monday, I read Managing Oneself by Peter Drucker.

Biggest takeaway-

Know yourself. Not just strengths and weaknesses in ability, but in learning style, and also in values.

I know I personally would have avoided at least one , and probably three, jobs that didn’t work well for me if I had taken my values into account.

I have temporarily skipped Evolutionary Psychology by David Buss, as no Kindle version is available.

I’m also about 70% through The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins.

It’s an absolutely fascinating book, and I see how Dawkins became so popular, even if I do disagree with his theories on theism.

For the first time ever, I have gotten an explanation as to how life could have evolved in the first place that makes sense.  In addition, there are many apparent problems with evolution that are solved when one remembers that, ultimately, it is the gene that is “trying” to perpetuate itself.

Should probably finish this book tomorrow.
